The Ella C. McFadden Endowment Fund
There are certain individuals who capture the essence of endowed philanthropy, creating a mechanism of giving that lasts forever. Ella McFadden was one of them.
The Ella C. McFadden Endowment Fund at the North Texas Community Foundation benefits 13 designated nonprofit agencies in greater Tarrant County. It was honored as an Outstanding Philanthropic Organization by the Association of Fundraising Professionals in 2013.
The North Texas Community Foundation has stewarded these funds for more than 25 years, and the 13 nonprofit agencies receive a check annually for earnings on these funds. The funds have grown to keep pace with inflation, and Mrs. McFadden’s gift has helped create hope, happiness and success for thousands.
The 13 nonprofit agencies benefitting from the Ella C. McFadden Fund at the North Texas Community Foundation are:
“Through the generosity of the Ella C. McFadden Trust, in the past 28 years Meals on Wheels has been able to provide more than one million additional meals and other supportive services to disabled and homebound persons living in our community. Well-balanced meals, daily visits by caring volunteers and professional case management allow thousands to remain safely in their own homes.”
– Carla Jutson, President & CEO, Meals on Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County
“Nolan Catholic High School has enjoyed an extraordinary relationship with the Ella C. McFadden Trust for more than three decades. The Trust’s generous support of our tuition assistance program continues to enable Nolan to provide a faith-based, college preparatory education for countless students who otherwise would not have been able to receive a Nolan education. As adults, these former students have become the realization of Ella C. McFadden’s vision through their contributions to the greater good of our community and beyond.”
– Fr. Richard Villa, S.M., President, Nolan Catholic High School
