Fannye M. Jones Scholarship

Background:

Dwain H. Hughes, former Senior VP and CFO of Radio Shack, played an instrumental role in establishing Radio Shack’s Tech Prep Program (in conjunction with Tarrant County College), which provided scholarships for students who studied technology. The Fannye M. Jones Scholarship was established within the Dwain H. Hughes scholarship fund in honor of a woman who provided the community of Greeneville, Tennessee, with a rich legacy and a commitment to education and service to others.

Amount:

Up to $5,000. Funds may be used for tuition, fees and books

Geographic limitations:

Greene County, TN/ Greeneville City School Systems

Eligibility:

  • African-American graduating seniors
  • Cumulative minimum 2.5 GPA
  • For Baccalaureate-level study, trade school or two-year college
  • All applications must be submitted to:
