Chesapeake Scholarship Awards Celebration

On May 26, 9 graduating seniors from FWISD and their families were honored at the Fort Worth Club as they were presented with a combined $85,000 from the Chesapeake Scholarship Fund of the North Texas Community Foundation. This 4 year, renewable award is offered to FWISD minority students to help them attend their top choice college or university. Congratulations to our 2016 Chesapeake Scholars!! Center for Public Policy Priorities Event

2016 State of Texas Children and Fort Worth Snapshot Wednesday, May 25, 2016 9:00 am – 4:00 pm Lena Pope *Breakfast and lunch included.

On May 25, the North Texas Community Foundation partnered with the Center for Public Policy Priorities and the Early Learning Alliance to examine the role of equity on child well-being outcomes with the release of State of Texas Children 2016: Race and Equity in Fort Worth. Over 200 leaders from the business, civic, education, health, nonprofit, and philanthropy sectors gathered to learn about racial disparities that Fort Worth children experience in health, education, and financial security.

More than 85 professional advisors gathered the morning of May 5 to hear Bryan Clontz, president of Charitable Solutions, speak about Top Charitable Trends Advisors Should Know in 2016 at our Insights for Professional Advisors event. At Insights for Nonprofits, Bryan spoke with executives at Lena Pope helping them learn how to build their organization’s endowment. Finally, Bryan sat down with the Community Foundation staff for a productive conversation about the inner workings of community foundations and how our staff can continue to learn and adapt as our assets grow.
