In December, President Obama signed into law new provisions for the IRA Charitable Rollover. The provision permanently allows taxpayers age 70 ½ or older to transfer up to $100,000 annually from their IRA accounts directly to charity without first having to recognize the distribution as income.

Contributions through an IRA Charitable Rollover to the North Texas Community Foundation can be established as designated funds, field of interest funds, unrestricted funds or scholarships. The current provision does not allow gifts to be made from an IRA to a donor-advised fund.

The North Texas Community Foundation can help you establish a fund from an IRA Rollover. Please contact Nancy Webb at nwebb@northtexascf.org or 817.877.0702.
