As Arlington marks its 150th anniversary this year, North Texas Community joins in celebrating alongside the people who make this city strong. Over our 45-year history, Arlington-based NTCF fundholders have directed more than $17.5 million in grants to nonprofits serving their community.
Their generosity has reached every part of the city. Donor support has strengthened families at Arlington Life Shelter, expanded opportunity for students through the Arlington ISD Education Foundation and sustained critical services at Mission Arlington. Investments in River Legacy and Friends of Levitt Pavilion help preserve shared spaces for nature and the arts, while the National Medal of Honor Museum honors service and sacrifice. Together, these organizations reflect a broader network of nonprofits creating positive impact across Arlington each day.
Beyond individual grants, NTCF has invested more than $760,000 through its competitive grant cycles to build nonprofit capacity in areas such as animals, arts and culture, disaster relief and conservation.
In recognition of Arlington’s year-long sesquicentennial celebration, North Texas Community Foundation partnered with City of Arlington, Downtown Arlington and University of Texas at Arlington to support a public mural for the community. Painted in the Urban Union area of Downtown Arlington, the mural by artist Dylan Kennedy features “DREAM” outlined and filled with the word “dream” in 150 different languages, a visible reflection of shared aspiration.
Together, we are building a stronger and more vibrant Arlington, one gift and one dream at a time.
