Better Together Fund
Respond | Recover | Restore
Though we may be physically separated for the time-being, we’re all in this together.
The Better Together Fund is rapidly deploying resources to community-based organizations
that are supporting local workers and families most affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
About the Better Together Fund
Housed at North Texas Community Foundation, the Fund makes grants to nonprofits that are working on the frontlines to provide our region’s most vulnerable communities with emergency assistance, such as financial support, nutrition, healthcare, and childcare.
The first round of grants is prioritizing organizations responding to the crisis by delivering critical services where the need is greatest, including:
- Low-income families and individuals
- People experiencing homelessness
- Healthcare/first responders
- Senior Citizens
- Other vulnerable populations, including veterans, displaced hospitality workers, those at risk of domestic violence, suffering from addiction or experiencing mental health issues
The Fund will complement the work of public health officials and expand local capacity to address the many needs created by the coronavirus crisis. 100% of all funds donated will be directed to support disaster relief.

Information for Nonprofits
In order to move resources quickly without further burdening organizations providing critical services and support, we are not hosting a formal application process at this time. North Texas Community Foundation will instead accept and review applications submitted on the NorthTexasCares.org regional grants portal.
Grants are made by the North Texas Community Foundation grants committee, an independent body comprised of community leaders, fundholders and board members, on a rolling basis. As fundraising continues through the outbreak and recovery phases of the crisis, the Fund will adapt to meet emerging needs as the situation evolves. An initial round of grants will be made in mid-April, and those grants will be posted here once they are announced.
