Collaboration in Action: Strengthening Student Success

This July, thanks to the generosity of our donors who invested in our Children’s Fund, 104 students at Clifford Davis Elementary participated in a four-week summer program focused on literacy, math, science, and social-emotional learning.

The program was a community effort made possible through collaboration with United Community Centers, Fort Worth ISD, Clifford Davis ES, Catholic Charities Fort Worth, Catch Up & Read, and support from philanthropic partners at the Rainwater Charitable Foundation and Sid W. Richardson Foundation.

Your investment helped create a powerful impact:

>Students achieved an 84% average weekly attendance rate. This number is substantial considering Clifford Davis has the highest number of chronically absent students in the district.

>Teachers, assistants, and staff dedicated their time and talents to ensure a smooth, supportive learning environment. Clifford Davis has a high mobility rate with nearly half of the students transferring in or out during the school year. High mobility places extra strain on teachers, staff, and resources as they work to quickly integrate new students and support those who leave.

>Catholic Charities Fort Worth and Catch Up & Read accelerated student progress, with one teacher sharing, “Most of the students in my lowest group did not have knowledge of any letter sounds. After a couple of days of receiving interventions from Catholic Charities in addition to the in-classroom sessions, students demonstrated solid knowledge of six previously unknown letters.”

This program not only strengthened student learning but also brought resources and encouragement to families in the Clifford Davis and Monarch Apartment communities. We are grateful to our donors whose generosity is helping students build the strong foundation they need to succeed.
