Fleetwood Memorial Fund Celebrates 50th Anniversary with $50k in Grants

In honor of its 50th anniversary, the Fleetwood Memorial Foundation Fund at North Texas Community Foundation announces the distribution of $50,000 in grants to the police and fire departments of Fort Worth and Arlington. Each department received $12,500 to support their efforts in safeguarding our communities.

The Fleetwood Memorial Foundation Fund provides immediate financial assistance to first responders injured in the line of duty and to the families of those who have tragically lost their lives while serving our communities. Unique in its mission, the Fund offers swift, interim relief within the first eight weeks following an incident, bridging the gap until additional monetary assistance arrives from other sources.

Since its establishment in 1974 by Mr. William Irven Fleetwood, the Fund has awarded nearly $6 million to first responders and their families, ensuring they receive timely support in their times of need.
