Preserving What Makes North Texas Home

Impact from the Conservation & Environment Fund

The Conservation and Environment Fund at North Texas Community Foundation invests in initiatives that advance environmental stewardship and protect the natural beauty of our region. Grants are awarded to organizations working to conserve native species and habitats, safeguard urban green spaces, and deliver educational programs that highlight the value of land and resource conservation. Funding also supports the preservation of land for agriculture, wildlife, and botanical uses.

Since its launch in 2022, the Fund has awarded more than $335,000 in grants to nonprofits advancing environmental conservation and education.

Last year, the Fund powered 14 projects across our 11-county region, including:

>Child Care Associates constructed a greenhouse at the LVTRise Community Center in Fort Worth, creating a hands-on classroom where children and families can experience gardening, healthy eating, and environmental stewardship.

>Clark Gardens in Weatherford rehabilitated a pollinator garden, restoring critical habitat for native pollinators while enhancing a cherished public green space.

>Texas Land Conservancy worked alongside local landowners to finalize conservation easements, permanently protecting 935 acres along the Brazos River and Lake Granbury and preserving open space in a rapidly developing area.

>KEEN Group provided environmental educational field trips to a Texas State Parks Hatchery, as well as nature photography classes to kids aged 7-15.

Help continue this impact in 2025.
Gifts to the Conservation and Environment Fund make it possible to protect natural habitats, expand green spaces, and provide more opportunities for people to connect with the outdoors. Every contribution plays a vital role in building a healthier, more vibrant North Texas.
