How one fund continues to ease the burden on our brave men, women and their families

To express his gratitude for Texas Safety Personnel, William Irvin Fleetwood established the Fleetwood Memorial Foundation in 1974. After years of providing financial assistance to injured or fallen first responders and their families, the foundation identified North Texas Community Foundation as the best partner to continue its mission. Since 2012, the fund at NTCF has continued to provide immediate financial assistance to ease the burden on our brave men, women and their families when they need it most.

In 2022, NTCF celebrated ten years of stewarding the Fleetwood Memorial Fund. Over the past decade, the fund has issued over $1.4 million in grants to more than 250 individuals and families across Texas. Because the fund is endowed, it will remain a vital source of assistance for first responder families forever.

“Over the past decade, NTCF has tirelessly helped support our mission by providing aid to hundreds of individuals and families across Texas. We’re excited to see the impact we can create in the decades to come.” – Tom Cravens, former board chair of the Fleetwood Memorial Foundation
