WORTH members met on January 24th to deliberate over this year’s funding requests. Members reviewed written proposals and listened to pitches from nine nonprofits. After considering many factors, the group funded two local nonprofits.

Leg Up Program – $14,500

Located on East Lancaster Street, Leg Up provides housing readiness and employment training to individuals experiencing homelessness and helps graduates of both programs secure housing. WORTH funds will provide housing and utility assistance to those who complete the programs.

Arlington Charities, Inc. – $5,000

Arlington Charities, Inc. is a food pantry that serves 55,000 clients annually. A satellite pantry at the TCC Southeast campus currently lacks any refrigeration; WORTH funds will support the purchase of a cooler and freezer for the pantry.
