How One Gift is Creating Impact for Generations
Legacy is not defined solely by what we accomplish in a lifetime, but by the lasting impact we create for the communities and causes we care about long after we are gone.
In 2025, North Texas Community Foundation received the largest gift in its history—an estate gift of more than $100 million from Beverly Hudgins Ray Parkhurst. In an extraordinary act of trust, her deeply intentional legacy was designed to create meaningful impact for generations to come.
Born in Fort Worth, Beverly was a successful entrepreneur known for both her business acumen and impeccable style. She earned a degree in business administration from Texas Christian University and successfully led multiple businesses throughout her career, including the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach, California, and her cherished antique store, Beverly & Company.
As Beverly considered the legacy of her estate, she intentionally ensured her support of the community would live on through permanent, endowed funds. Beverly’s confidence in NTCF’s long-term stewardship and ability to honor donor intent led her to entrust her entire estate to the Foundation. Her estate gift established five permanent, endowed funds—each created to shape positive change long after her lifetime.
As the steward of her legacy, NTCF ensures these funds transform Beverly’s generosity into sustained, long-term community impact.
“Bev’s gift is a true testament to the power of philanthropy and the enduring impact one person can have on an entire community.” – Rose Bradshaw, President & CEO of North Texas Community Foundation
