COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP

In addition to awarding grants, the North Texas Community Foundation supports special initiatives that address local challenges and encourage smart philanthropy. All of our projects are developed in direct response to needs identified for the North Texas region.

EARLY LEARNING ALLIANCE

The Early Learning Alliance, ELA, is a community collaboration of more than 50 individuals and organizations focused on early learning from ages 0-8. Together, it seeks to improve outcomes for all Fort Worth children by aligning the goals of early child care providers and K-12 systems.

The Fort Worth Literacy Partnership will serve as a backbone organization that connects and supports existing initiatives, programs and providers through data, communications and facilitation to dramatically improve early childhood results.

FOSTER CARE REFORM

Texas’ foster care system is in very tough shape, and unfortunately, our most vulnerable kids are paying the price. The next 12-24 months will be a critical period during which a focused, well-coordinated effort can influence the future of foster care throughout the state of Texas. As a next step, on November 17, 2016 we laid the groundwork for statewide reform by sharing lessons learned through ACH’s pilot redesign project with policymakers on at the State Capitol in Austin.
